Default This slightly makes me angry

Yeah I ordered my car (should be in this week hopefully) and I also ordered the TRD lowering springs. I would have gone aftermarket, but I really like the subtle drop and plus I live in Washington so there's a few steep hills and what not. Anyway, I was talking to the dealer and they were saying that after the TRD install I don't get my original springs? what kind of crap is that. Didn't I pay 17K to get the originals and then the extra 200 for the lowerings springs? Did you guys get to keep yours? I just want mine just in case I ever need to go back to stock height but I don't know this seems a little weird.

uhhh... you shuold get the stock's back. Better yet, you shouldve bought the spring somewhere else and install it yourself or at a local shop for much less.

Well, from mcgeorgeparts.com.....

the springs, shocks and rear sway bar is $689.00

the springs and shocks is $589.00

the springs and sway bar is $254.00

Install from the dealer is usually around $400.00 for install of all 3.

Did you get just springs on the stock shocks (struts)?

That was the only bad decision I made on this car. $500 includes springs and install, no stock springs returned. Whatever. I just didn't want to drive off the lot stock. I shoulda got the H&Rs and installed 'em myself!

I think the way they are looking at it is, if you had gotten a car with an optional upgraded stereo, would you get the stock one as well? I know it's different cause it's a dealer installed option, but I think that's how their looking at it. What I want to know is what do they plan on doing with the stock springs?

i bought the bazooka sub with my tC and they did the same thing but with the panel you have to remove from the trunk. I went back the next day when i noticed that it was not given to me and the mech had to go get it from the back. i dont know if it was headed for the trash or what but i was able to get it and it was still in like new condition. I say make them give you the OEM springs or take your business elsewhere.

here's what i say...back out and purchase a tC without the TRD springs. then, go on eBay when you get the car and buy the TRD springs off of eBay for $150 and install them yourself. you'll save sooo much money this way!

My dealer told me that since I wanted to install my springs myself I could not get 'em as part of my financing. Is this true or is it dealer specific?

so wait..you want to purchase the springs but finance them with your car? if that's the case then the dealer will have a problem with it because any install you wish to do on your own they WILL have a problem with it. i think the TRD springs are like $190 from the dealer but on eBay they're like $40 cheaper. all in all, any kind of mods you want to do with your car the dealer most likely will have a problem with it. dealers suck..if they could they would say ANYTHING would void your warranty.
