You do not have to change the strut. However changing the struts is still highly recommended as you are still lowering the car.

you sound like you are in the same position i was in. i ended up going with tein h-techs. ride feels almost stock until you start driving it hard. the drop is nice and gives in a nice rake. it also isnt as extreme as the s-techs. There is about 1 finger in the ront and just less than 2 in the back.

install is much easier than expected. with help from a friend, it took about 4 hours total. we split up the fronts on a wednesday afternoon and the rears on a thursday afternoon. not bad at all.

Thanks! A local car/audio shop installed them for me, only $100. I got a lifetime allignment from break check for only $80. springs were only $150 @ McGeorgeParts.com! Great place! I love my drop!!!

You can bring in the rear with an alignment using the stock eccentric bolts installed on every tc from the factory. If you are going to spend the money on springs you should purchase a camber kit aswell. On TRD springs you will be within spec on the front and back to do a quick alignment without any extra parts. On any other springs however chances are very good you must purchase front eccentric bolts. Anytime you remove the struts from a car with macpherson strut based suspension you should do an alignment to properly compensate. This is due to the fact that your strut acts as a linkage between the frame of your car and the lower arms. Comparing a tc to your experiencees with an acura integra however is like comparing an orange to an apple. They are two completely different cars.
This is exactly as I was talking about and the specific differances are apples and oranges. However, mechanically speaking, they are not so different, as the concept of both rear suspentions are relitively simular. However, I would like to know more about the "eccentric bolts". Please elaberate on this part as I am not familar with the mechanics of it nor its purpose.

Eccentric bolts are thinner and harder than stock bolts, however there is an eccentric part in the center that allows you to turn the head and extend inward or outward the strut. You need one for each side on the front.

Go on ebay and type in scion tc camber. It will bring up front camber kits. There are pictures of what eccentric bolts look like there.

Ok, that provided me with a visual. Although, I do not see out exactly they adjust the camber. Could some one explain the dynamic
