Default squeaking noise while steering reverse?!?!?!

Everytime i back out of my driveway there is a squeaking noise everytime i steer out.. and its definetly coming from the front of the car.. I have TEIN coilcers and im afraid if i go to the dealer they're going to automatically void my warranty.. What's the noise and what should i do?

Is it a squeeling, popping or a crunching type of noise?
Is it only while you are turning the wheel or does it keep doing it just while the wheel is turned?
Is the noise constant when it's happening or just kind of in and out?

dealerships can't "void" your warranty because you modified your car.

Now let's say you DO take it to the dealership and they say "yeah, the front right strut is making a squeak, and we aren't touching it" then that's fine, and that's the best they can do. OR they could be jerks and say "Well, the front suspension arm is binding against bla-bla-bla and it's caused from your coilovers so we're not fixing it" - no warranty is ever really "voided" unless the warranter specifically SAYS "IF YOU DO THIS YOUR WARRANTY IS VOID" like TRD does with removing the protective cap to change the pulley to up the boost.

Are you sure it isn't when you hit the brakes and the brake pads are scraping off some of the surface rust?

What about transmission whine? in reverse, transmission whine is pretty apparent. If it's transmission whine, to check, put the car in reverse on a street, hit the gas and speed up to a good speed and let off the gas and coast to a stop, you can't miss it.

Have you checked all the bolts? It wouldn't kill you to take a wrench and tighten down the 3 bolts per shock under the hood and in the trunk area, you'd have to be he-man to over-tighten them by hand with hand tools past the spec'd torque of about 43-45ft/lbs. I think they're 14mm bolts.

I would have to say that it was your coilovers rubbing on metal... I would suggest tightening them.

Also, you shouldn't bet that the noise is coming from the front unless you are by a wall and it echos off from the from. High pitch noises can come from the rear and sound like they come from the front. Same with rattles.

I would tighten all the bolts (front and back) and see if that helps.

Oh, one more thing you can try - you said that you like reverse out of your drive way in neutral. Try to roll back with the engine off and see if it's still squeaking. This can help you narrow down where the squeaking (which side) is coming from.

If you really want, you might even be able to pop the hood and have someone sit on the front to see if they can hear it better to identify the problem. But, obviously, this is not the safest way to do it, so please becareful if you do it this way.

Check the brake dust shields for rotor contact.

You can check the brake dust shields, it wouldn't hurt anything. But if you are getting this problem when you are going in reverse only, then I don't think it's a problem with your brakes.
