Default TRD Springs and Struts...Installed or Not???

Hi Everyone! This is my first post and I thought this would definitely be the place to get my question answered.

I ordered a new Scion tC from the dealership and customized it with the TRD Lowering Springs and Strut package. After looking at several tC's at my work, around town and even at the dealership, I'm beginning to wonder if the dealership actually ever installed the lowering springs and struts at all. The drop does not seem noticeable at all compared to other "stock" tC's. After seeing this post:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...646918#1646918

I am pretty positive I don't have the lowering springs due to the fact that 4 of my fingers fit in between the tire and the fender lip. Can anyone give me some more information as to what to look for to identify that I have the TRD Springs and Struts?

You should have red shocks/struts and white springs.

Look up under the wheel well. Yes, you can see them. Like 2fast said, red struts, white springs.

If your struts/springs look stock, call your dealership, and call the number in my sig. They may have just forgotten to put them on.

Lesson learned, trd springs and shocks are overpriced and provide no real drop or performance gains over stock.

Both the springs and the struts are all black. I'll see if I can get a pic of it here in a few. I had the car on my lift and got this set of numbers off the strut:

S-161 060419 9717

I think I got gipped...

They didn't forget to charge me for them or charge me labor to install. I never did get an invoice for the labor charges or the parts, just an addition to my total selling price.

I kinda figured that going into the deal, but I thought if I could gain a little performance when I initially got the car, and not dropping the car too much for Pittsburgh roads I opted for it. I was figuring a swap eventualy as I mod the car a bit.

My suggestion would be to check your paperwork for any accessories and ask them when they plan on installing your suspension parts. They should be listed on the final bill of sale.

And I suppose you would know best.

The trd drop does reduce body roll nicely and it does remove most of the wheel gap. It is noticeable over stock, and if you can't see the drop, then there is no drop. I have the trd lowering springs and I can barely fit 2 finger widths in the wheel gap. Make sure you get that dealer to fix this ASAP and demand something for their mistake, I would be ____ed if this happened to me.

Yes sir, I had the TRD springs on my xB and I sold them to a member here on scionlife and got some tanabe df210s instead. Much softer spring, lower stance, and GREAT price. The TRD springs are good quality but certainly not the best option.

Also, in suspension mods to upgrade handling why would you ever want a soft spring? To increase body roll?

Back on topic, we're trying to get the springs installed for this guy, since the Dealer never installed them.

I got a post card in the mail informing me that all my suspension parts came in to the dealership, and the sales rep even called to let me know they were there. The car however was still getting the ground effects put on at the port of import apparently and wouldn't show up for a few days after. On the bill of sale all the accessory codes were listed, and I was told specifically the cost for the labor for the install (around $500 or 600 for everything if I remember right). I understand mistakes happen so I'm not going to turn into the customer that even I wouldn't want to deal with, there's no sense in that. But I'm just very disappointed that I couldn't just get what I ordered and paid for, especially since I told them I was in no rush to get the car.

Well I talked to the manager at the dealership he is looking into finding the service records for the vehicle, I'm assuming there won't be any so hopefully that means they'll help me out, instead of making some up today. I will have to request some sort of visual confirmation that the TRD clutch is in there, cause I can't trust that it was put in after this. Nobody in service can honestly convince me that they installed a clutch but just forgot about the springs.

I have to admit that mistakes to happen however, how they treat me to get this resolved will utimately determine my overall opinion and trust in them as a dealership. Maybe I will be surprised....
