TRD parts are not over priced and you can see a difference in the car. You will reduce the wheel gap and improve the handling. Please don't listen to the resident haters.

Yeah that is totally stock suspension. If they can't provide you with records of them doing the work on the car then they didn't do the work. I don't think they put your clutch in either to be honest. If they didn't bother doing a simple spring and shock install them I doubt they took the time to put the clutch in. I would request that they check it or refund you the money. If they try to say it was installed at port before thay got the car that's not true because all TRD parts are Dealer Installed Options ONLY.

Thanks for the info!

It's ok, it's my car so haters don't bother me. I didn't think the parts were overpriced really compared to what other places online are charging for the same parts. Compared to other brand names maybe, but I was sold on the fact that I get the parts on the car when I pick it up, and I'm assured I don't need a camber adjustment kit or have to worry about how my tires wear since TRD already thought of that for me. It may not be the lowest or the best handling of the top brands, but the compromise of better than stock, price and accessibility without dragging over every bump sold me. And don't get me wrong either, it's not that I'm not down to work on my own car. I am no stranger to suspension work....just not on a Scion...yet...

Yeah the dealer also told me up front they can't put those parts on at the port, they said that before I even put a deposit down. And that's why there's an installation charge, because the dealer has to do it. As far as the clutch goes, I need visual evidence it's there. I can't comprise on that. I don't necessarily want a refund cause I would like a better performing clutch than stock, same with the suspension.

Would any recommend that I request a 4 wheel alignment if they actually install the kit?

Still no response yet. I may have to call back and find out what happened.

Yes you will need an alignment. It should be included in the price already. Just remember anytime you change something in the suspension you should have the alignment checked.

I hope it all works out for you without a bunch of crap.

Thanks! I'm glad I'm getting some good feedback and can stop wondering if I'm crazy comparing ride heights at the dealership....well maybe I'm still crazy...

I figured that about the alignment, and I know if I don't tell them to do it they probably won't.

Well the dealer finally called me back claiming the parts on the car were not installed as I claimed and the reason being is that they did not have the springs available to install. Apparently the springs have been on back order since 3/25/06 and they were supposed to tell me that when the springs came in they would install the clutch, struts and springs all at once. They claimed that the springs will be in next week and were going to call me then to schedule a service appointment to put the parts on the car then, I merely notified them of the situation sooner.

I'm not too happy with their performance and honestly beleive that if I didn't call nothing would've been done even though I've already paid the labor and parts costs.

Thanks for everyone's help in trying to get this resolved. Just another warning that you don't always get what they claim from the dealer.

When I first got my tC, the only option I got was the TRD springs, cause I didnt' want to drive off the lot stock height.
But when I picked it up, they said they didn't have them in stock, even though I already paid for them. I had to come back the next week to have them put in. So that might be what happened, they just forgot to tell you to come back.
I didnt' even know TRD made a clutch.

I'm pretty sure you're right, but after telling me they were in and that the "car looks great" with them, I am a little disappointed. I would've had no problem waiting, just with being misinformed. I was even back once for warranty work on an interior panel, and I didn't even get a "Those springs will be in soon."

Oh and yeah I think the clutch was something new in the past year (maybe). I'll let you how different it is since I have a good comparison compared to the stock one.

Yo Ay, you should report this dealership and what they did to Scion HQ.

What dealer is this? I'm from Pgh, too. I got the TRD springs also but I had some friends install them. You should come to one of our meets.

Hey atodak, yeah I'm thinking I might. I'm not saying I have all the answers when it comes to cars and parts, but at least I had some feeling that I didn't get what I was supposed to, and I'm sure that there are alot of people who would never even think that they weren't getting what they ordered. I would hope that notifying someone other than the dealership will make them double check deliveries next time so someone else doesn't get affected.

I love the car though and am not thinking getting rid of it anytime soon!

I'm all about meets! I'll need notice though, I like to spray detail the car before I go somewhere important. I'll PM you the dealership, I don't want to completely bash them I just wanted see if I'm right and express my dislike.

I don't want to get too far off topic here so I sent you a PM with the two shows coming up in the area.

That's funny that they told you they're been on back order. lol Those spring have never been on back order. They may not have kept up with all the part # changes but that weren't on back order. Not trying to cause any more issues with your dealer just letting you know.

Here is another point to make. If you look at like Mugen (Honda) or Nismo (Nissan) for example... their stuff is even more super high price even more than TRD... but probably bc they up the quality of their stuff. So for TRD I think you get what you paid for. I personally like the TRD suspension.... So I'm going to get it since it's not too aggressive.

The TRD stuff is great, and under their warantee.
The price for the parts are fine, it's the dealership labor costs that are overpriced. That's where they get you.

I just put the trd springs and struts on my tC last weekend and had it aligned yesterday at Bob Massie where I bought the car. They treat me well. They even fixed my rattling sunroof. I would like to know what dealership this is...the backorder thing is bs...TRDSparks has them in stock all the time. I ordered them and received them 3 days later. Easy install. I am guessing it is a shady dealership like Spitzer or something, but PM me the dealership name.

TRD has made a clutch for a while now...more than a year.

Good luck with it.

Amanda, is that sway bar still tight and not rattling anymore?

Yeah it's good, thanks! But now there's a rattle coming from the front. I'm going to take it somewhere to have it looked at, I won't bother you with it again. Thanks again for fixing the back!

I am pretty positive I don't have the lowering springs due to the fact that 4 of my fingers fit in between the tire and the fender lip. Can anyone give me some more information as to what to look for to identify that I have the TRD Springs and Struts?

lol im on the page of the post to the link you posted too haha just make sure after you take your car to the dealer on install day ur springs look like this

Thanks jon! That is pretty humorous! B1uEsC1uEs's post was my scientific reference point for checking my own car, but just looking at your car with the close up wheel well shot is enough to convince me that I don't have the kit installed. BTW the car looks great jon!

PS I consider anything that requires use of your hand for measurement to be a scientific reference...
