A downside to more pistons (especially if not properly sized) is that pedal feel will be worse than stock as more fluid needs to be displaced in order to actuate the pistons. This means a longer pedal throw, less driver feedback and brake modulation will be more difficult. Unfortunately, companies have been pushing the more pistons = better myths which is simply not true.

awesome information. Thank you

Had stoptechs on my audi allroad. Great brake when warmed up but, horrible I mean HORRIBLE squeaking and brake dust when they where not autoxing... But that was the ultimate pads.

Do the street pads that you sell better for sound and dust??? hows the stoping power diff? TIA instigator...

anyway to get the kit with the street pads then the ultimate ones? I am contemplating BBKs now....

also, do stoptech have any rotor, pad combo for the back of our cars yet?

Im suprised you mentioned sqealing with the Ultimates as they are usually a very quiet pad. Im wondering if you had a faulty set or an incomplete bed-in. They are known to be dusty though. The Axxis ultimate is our go to pad for street use for its price point and all around performance with high bite, 1000 degree F maximum opertaing temp and low rotor wear. We also have the Hawk HPS which is a great street pad with less dust and less bite than the Ultimates but more expensive. The HPS is also known to be a quiet pad. Theres also the HP+ which is more aggressive than the HPS but is know to squeal and be dusty. Its a great choice for autocrossing with its high cold bite characteristics

If you are wondering about pads for our BBKs, we have 23 pad compunds available and there are more available from other brands that we dont stock. We can source a pad for just about any application for our 4 piston BBK.

Theres no rear kit, but we may develop something due to demand for a rear kit we've been receiving. FYI...if it happens it wont be cheap.

thanks for the info instigator!

I am 100% positive that they were set right. I had a porsche tech that is a friend of mine do them, and he does it all the time.

soooI can order a Front BBK slotted, with my choice of pad equal to ultimates?

also, do you sell a rotor/pad/SSlines kit for rear only for our car? I see you have combo deals, but not just a seperate Rear kit... Or am I wrong?

TIA man

If you want to get something other than ultimates in a BBK, you will get a $40 credit on the overall price of the kit which can be applied to different pads. there are no pad substitutions allowed on our stage kits.

We have slotted or drilled rotors, pads and lines available for the rear separately as well. If you go to the order section of the site and choose SportStop rotors you will see the individual rotors that are available. You can also select "ss lines" and "pads for stock calipers" to see the individual parts. There is no rear only stage kit...just the individual parts.
