theres 2 obvious different styles in terms of wheel selection these days:

1-the JDM style racing wheel (clean, stealth, laid back, practical, classy, lighweight

2-the "Playa/gangsta/look at me, i have such low self confidence that i crave attention and get it by having really flashy wheels" style (awkwardly oversized, don't look natural on car, "blingy" or flashy chrome finish, totally impractical (decreased performance, miscalibrate speedometer, decreased turning/cornering capabililty, heavier, poorer ride quality/bumpier ride, decreased mpg's),...basically an eye sore.

i don't know why kids see the rappers and NBA players with huge rims on their EkScalades and somehow think it would be a good idea to put huge rims on your japanese sport coupe....

"ricy" can be defined as any cheesy mod to your car that has no benefit or performance advantage, or a stricly cosmetic mod meant to attract attention. so in this sense, yes, 19's are absolutely ricy.
