advice please-- Update: help me pick a tire lol
Hey guys so I'm currently running Goodyear Eagle F1 tires on my stock rims
I recently found that one of my tires has a pretty fast slow leak (lol)
I was hoping some of you could advice me what my best move would be
I know I could probably have it patched but I recall hearing somewhere that patches do not account for the damage to the stuctural integrity of the tire and that during aggressive tire use damage could be incurred... any truth to this?
I put these tires on, on 4/30/2008 at 19187mi, however I'm only at ~33000 miles now. Here are pictures of the tread life:
rears:
fronts:
as you can see the rears have really low tread so do you guys think I should use this as an excuse to get some new rubber all around?(.....I'd really like to get something sticker anyway to make 2nd gear usable again haha)
or is this a waste of money because of how much tread is still on the fronts?

yeah thats what I eventually decided on. I've never been super happy with these GYs anyway
went to three different tire shops today trying to find someone who would actually talk to me about finding a real performance tire and pretty much every one I talked to didnt stock and wouldnt order any tire I wanted and was very insistent on some tire or another that seems over priced and underperforming :-/

Any one have any opinions on the Sumioto HTR Z III?
I can get a really good deal (4 for 2) if I buy tomorrow, but I'm not sure if they're worth jumping on
obviously I have a limited knowledge of what tires live up to their ratings seeing as I got sold on Eagle F1s haha, so I would really appreciate any input anyone has

haha well I as alright with spending a little extra if it meant I could get back some of the traction my turbo took away
I was eyeing those Dulop Star Specs everyone is raving about, but I feel like they're probably a bit overkill for me since I'm only pushing ~250 hp and rarely go to tracks :-/

i'd say keep your tired you got now. mi roads are going to eat up tires this year because there is an ungodly amount of car swallowing potholes right now
and after saying that, i am now sad because i have a brand new set of rims and tires in my garage -_-

lol well I should really replace my rears so I think Im gonna gram those HTR Zs at the 4 for 2 price. Dunno if they're exactly what I'm looking for but at that price they are.
Plus I always thought Michigan roads were bad till I met New Orlean's roads. I regularly have to straight up turn around and find a different road, and 1 way signs often become optional reading for me haha

Just bailed on the shop offering the 4 for 2 deal
at $170 per tire with mandatory shop fees, tire disposal fees, premium warrenty, and alignment that are all required for the package it came out to $650 somethin.
I need an alignment anyway, but I'm not sure this is the shop I want doing my alignment and I just felt like I was gettin taken for a ride so I peaced lol

It looks like the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tire got much better review than the F1 all season I'm running now. Might order these off tire rack and just take em in somewhere. Thoughts anyone?
edit: decided to take a break from Goodyears and am getting Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500s
the reviews on tirerack are all extremely positive, yet there doesnt seem to be a whole lot of info out about them. Looking forward to trying something new

As a former Goodyear tech screw them (being biased) move on to a different brand try Cooper,Sumitomo,Federal,BFGood if you have the cash Dunlop Direzza(be warned these wear really fast but offer nice grip) or Bridgestone RE series also one bit of advice try buying your set whatever you choose online alot cheaper, offers warranty, fast shipping, some good discounts. just my small bit of advice to you goodluck.

Haha yeah couldn't find one
And thanks for the recommendations, I really wanted the Star Spec but I couldn't justify a tire with such low tread life when I'm gonna be driving my car 1000 miles back to Michigan. But I also didn't want to do that road-trip on the leaking tires I had so I settled on a good deal I got on the Firestone summer tires I mentioned.
So far I'm pretty happy with em. Well see how they break in but for now they dont break loose in second which is fun

wow I'll definitely be hitting you up about that when I'm back home
I didn't get an alignment, but I need one pretty bad so I'll probably be goin in on friday.
I'm planning on replacing all my suspension bushings this summer with polyurethane ones so I'll need another one after that

For cheap tires I like fuzion Hri. Winter/Stock wheels, came from the dealer with them.
I run Nitto 555 on my car for summer tires. I love these tires.
I have also used Proxes 4s, and General Exclaim UHP and I would choose the Fuzions of those.
