Default Break sound

Ok so I was turning a corner at a somewhat high speed and my tire blew up and my right rear side of the car hit the sidewalk pretty hard now every time that tire rotates I get a sound of metal rubbing any ideas on what it could be. My rear wheel got bent where the sidewalk hit. and tire gets stuck when I try to spin it.

thanks

Here's a link to a page with aftermarket rotors. The second item is stock replacement rear for just $22.55 each. I'd suggest replacing both rears at the same time, especially considering they're so inexpensive.

yeah the hub isn't cheap at all. at least it's just the rear hub. Since to replace the front hub it requires to take off the front steering knuckle to press the bearing into the hub! In other words, not a at-home job!

Have you tried trdsparks.com? See what price they might get for ya, Ken over there has helped a lot of tC'ers before with deals.

ouch! $364.. just looked up trdsparks, oem parts for the hub, thinking it's the same for all 05-09. they wanted $283.

you're right, check out a junkyard. car-part.com is a good site to find out what's out there. some places even give you warranty for 90 days. I got a car stereo for another car from a junkyard, was a great deal compared to new. Nothing wrong with it. And yes I checked the vin it wasn't stolen ;)

man, that IS a drum brake, you can see all the linkages right there!

dude, just take a picture of your supposed bent hub, i doubt you bent your hub. what it REALLY sounds like is your rotor getting caught on a piece of brakepad or something like that.

The rear has drum brakes because you can't safely mechanically lock disc calipers to use as a parking brake. The hub is expensive due to the ABS sensor imbeded in the timken bearing. Replacement couldn't be easier. Just make sure you torque the 4 bolts to proper specification or your could have a nasty accident in your near future.

for those confused here is info for you..

The actual rear brake is a rotor and caliper. but the parking brake is a
drum brake design which is inside the inner diameter
(around the hub area) of the rear rotor. so there ya go, hope that clears it up
