Default Enkei EMX Super 18'' vs. stock 17'' rims

I have been thinking for a really long time about upgrading my stock 17'' rims on my tc to the optional factory 18'' Enkei EMX sUPER18'' wheels. I am a regular driver who doesn't do any racing or anything special. I just want to change these wheels and tires b/c I heard that the 18'' had much better ride comfort and handling. Is it true that the 18'' Enkei's really give a better and smoother ride than the stock 17''. I know that the type of tire has a lot to do with it too, but I'm talking about just the wheel size. Would I just be wasting my money? I feel that the 17'' stock wheels somewhat give an uncomfortable, bumpy ride.

If anything, upgrading to a bigger wheel size will only affect ride comfort and handling negatively.

If you're looking for better ride comfort, upgrade to a thicker tire, ie 225/45/17 although that will through off your speedometer by ~2mph @ 60. Or downgrade to a 16" wheel.

If you want more handling, you can get a lightweight wheel.

Oh, I didn't know that. I always thought bigger wheels meant better handling and ride comfort. Thanks for the advise!!!

Bigger wheels does mean better handling due to having a smaller profile sidewall on your tire, but once you get to a 17" wheel, the curve starts to decline from there due to the rotational mass being more heavily confined to the outside edges of the tire.

Bigger wheels don't mean better ride comfort since the bigger you go, the smaller the tire's sidewall will be, meaning less rubber between the road and wheel to soak up bumps, potholes, etc.

I'm sorry, I can't really understand your post dannygenio, quite honestly, because your grammar is horrible.

F1 cars also have 12+ inch wheels and 700+ horsepower.
