Default Kuhmo ASX?

My RE92's are on there last leg and i am in the market for an all season tire that will get me through some light snow and still have good dry traction. i am commuting from central jersey the north jersey for school, and if you live in jersey you know our winters. So what do guys think about the kuhmo asx's on stock rims. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...55&rd=17&ar=45

Not debating you at all on this because everyone has their own style of driving & their own experiances but I never found Kumhos to wear out fast. Mine always lasted longer than any tire I owned & I think their tires are great !

I always get the Ecsta Supras because I don't run my wheels on the xB in the winter but my buddy ran the ASX's on his VW Golf. He had nothing but good things to say. He also ran them in the winter & said they performed better than any 18" all season tire he has owned.

I am planning on getting these for our Tc as well because the RE92's wore out faster than any tire I have ever owned. When we replace them, the ASX's will be the tire of choice. I say go for it !!!

i was about to get the kumho asx's. if you check out tirerack.com they have some reviews and ratings.

they have good ratings for the price. the asx are rated 420 on treadwear, which is pretty good.

i've had the kumho 711 and they wear out pretty quick.
if you haven't bought tires yet, i'd look into the yokohama h4s/v4s.

I would also recommend looking into Falken ZE-512's. I have and enjoy them. They are z-rated and last up to 30,000 miles, which is pretty good for z-rated tires.

"cough" b.s..........

I have a set of falken RT615 and cannot get them to slide.......
I have tired to take corners at 60-70 mph and nothing, ive gon on fwy over passes and nothing.
I only run falkens on my cars.....
there is acutally a video of "the instigator" racing his Tc with the same tire. these are some of the stickiest tires on the face of the planet next to the advan neovas.

are you tracking your car? or is it a daily driver? Unless you are racing your car or can afford to spend 600.00 on tires every year dont get a tire with a treadware of less then 200

look at the pirelli p-zero that is a good street tire.....

What I'm planning on getting after my RE-92's kick are some BF Goodrich G-force KDW. And I've heard nothing but good things (except a post up there a ways) about Falkens. My friend has them on his RSX which he autocrosses and they've done well for him. Very sticky tires. Anyone else recomend the G-forces though?

Some of you guys are mixing apples and oranges here, the topic is all season tires, not summoer only ultra performance tires;)

Back on track, I have tested the ASX, great handling tire, smooth, quiet, they do wear out fairly quickly but so do all sticky tires, forget the rating, they can label them anything they want.

A bit better tire is the Toyo Proxis 4 but not by alot.

I would pick one of those two for any all season high performace tire but niether is going to be exceptionall in snow, better that you are a good snow driver if you choose them.

This info was gleaned from research, testing, knowing experts in the field, reviews, etc, not internet chatter;)

I only ran them a few days then traded the wheels the stock wheels to my buddy as my new RPF1 and RS2's came in and he needed better than the stock crap tires on his tC.

He ran them around 204k miles before replacing them but part of that was from needing an alignment.

Compared to the RE-92's I had and the Yokos he had, the ASX tires were far superior in all respects except maybe wear but that I have not tested so cannot comment either way.

I am looking at all season performance tires for my daughters Mazda 3s 5 door, manual tranny, no sunroof(will be fun to autox and will probably go with the Proxis 4 but still considering the ASX.

i have used proxes4's before good tire......very good grip.
i also have used dunlop FM901's they are good tires and i would say comprable to the performance of the proxes4.

Im looking for a set of 235/35-19 and 275/30-19 for my other car, im considering the toyo Ts-1.

toyo is a good brand.....
