the things that look like nutes is where it fits into the lug wrench. mine was alot longer than a normal socket. But anyway...It broke. Not air gun no breaker bar, just my arms turning the Scion Lugwrench. I must be strong...

Bizarre, mine is it's own lug socket as opposed to a socket that fits inside another socket.

for the tC there should be 20 in a pack. 5 lugs per tire, 4 tires.

do not buy those. the metal is soft and they start to get rounded-out with each use, and eventually strip.
search for Muteki's which are made by the same manufacturer, but with a different lock design. slightly heavier because of harder metal construction.

i have these on my car now and i had them on a previous one also. i have also heard many stories about the trouble they can cause...broken keysand so on. the key is not as hard as the lug nut causing it to break before the nut when overtorqued. but in my opinion, they are excellent lugs, you just have to use them properly. never use an impact wrench and never over torque them and you should be fine. be sure the key is completely flush so you do strip the sides. but never overtorque them, thats why there are 5 lugs, 5x78=390ft/lbs per wheel...good luck

^^ that's for the heads up. Only reason I was looking at these was because If you spray paint the lugs, the will probaby be stripped silver again once ya put the wheels back on (manually) but if its soft metal, I think I may just spray paint the lugs on the facs with a little shot of spray again after I do the rotation.

Is everything aftermarket, going to f up something, geesh.. Thx

Default The truth about tuner lug nuts

There is a reason the removal tool is so thin. Alot of aftermarket wheels today have VERY small lug holes in them. The socket is made to fit inside the lug hole on any wheel. It is also designed to be weaker then the lugnut so that it fails before the lugnut, if it wasn't, you could have an unremovable nut from being stripped out on the outside. The designer figured you would rather the key get damaged then the nut which is perfectly logical. A few members above mentioned the inner spined lug nuts are a better design. They could not be more wrong for 2 reasons. One reason is because the center hole collects water and dirt and causes rust in the worst place. Second reason is because the nut will split before the removal tool breaks creating an unremovable nut.

WOW!!!

http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/me...de=TITEK_SPDLG

this is nice!!!!!! the hole of my wheel is soooooo small the only lug nut would fit is this:

this tuner lug has no bulky head and the lug goes inside ( no lug would fit around the lug nut because of the tight hole)

but that titek looks cool.. i might be able to use the regular lug... well.. my tuner lug is only 1.27 inch long.. and it doesnt stick out from the hole ( the hole is like 1.3 deep) but that mitek is like 2.3 inch long!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!!!! 100 for the 20 pcs.. i dont care..........

20pcs BLUE 5Zigen Lug nuts for sale!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAND NEW never installed!!!!!!!!!!!! ( they wont fit because they have the bulkyhead)
pm me for pice !!!! ( it was $150!!!)

The reason for this is because the factory wheels have "sleeved" lugs. Meaning they go into the wheel. I don't remember the technical term for it and don't feel like looking it up. After market wheels have a tapered seat and require tapered lugs. I don't see anything wrong with the lug nuts you are using and it would be hard to find custom colored ones.

EDIT: You can use either type of tuner lug with small lug holes. the ones with outer splines have a tool same size as the other type of lug. They both fit the same size hole.

You're not running these with stock wheels are you? The topic owner is asking for lug nuts for his STOCK wheels.

Running them on stock wheels isn't the problem. Them falling off or/and really damaging the wheel would be the problem! That is considering he found some way to force em into the lug holes in the first place!
