Need new tires
I'm looking for some new all season tires to put on the tC. I've narrowed it down to these four:
Bridgestone Potenza 960A S Pole Position
Yokohama Avid H4S
Toyo Proxes 4
Toyo Proxes Fz4
I'm a pretty spirited driver and do combined highway and city driving. I'm looking for something with good traction, not too noisy, and the best treadlife. Thanks in advance.

please stay away from the Yokohama Avid H4S tires, had them before, returned them the next day! Made the tC handle very badly. wandered all over the place, took bumps too hard (air pressure was the correct pressure), and the steering response was non-existent! don't even bother with them!
The Bridgestone 960's are decent, but for me I've had too many defective Bridgestones along the way to try them again (too many out of round), company was nice about replacing them, but I just got rid of them.
Toyo Proxes4's, couple of defectives, quick to replace, good in all temps (-20 is the temp I remember driving them in, hottest was about 100 or 101) and didnt matter the temp outside, same traction! Snow, it's okay like fair traction, anything over 3 inches on the ground you're spinning. Rain? Same traction as dry. Mileage? about 25,000 with rotating them every 3000-3500 miles and 2 alignments per year.
There's also the Goodyear F1 All-season but the research i've seen was that they ride well, but some get noisy.. I'm not sure if the car is what was causing that but being honest with what i've seen out there.
There is also the BFG G-sport a/s haven't tried it, but never had that many out-of-round defective tires with BFG in the past.
Hope my $0.02 helps ya.

DUDE!!!!!.... seriously... Kumho Escta ASX's.... one sweet tire for the tC handled great, cost less than any other one I found at the time....Great all season performance tire for a great price. ....oh and just fyi... this is the same tire that comes standard from the factory on brand new Corvettes... that's no BS..... I put them on my 06 tC and was never disappointed any time of the year... when my stock tires wear out on my new 08 tC....Im buying another set of Kumho Escta ASX's.
buy those...you wont be sorry bro

I forgot to add one thing.. been looking at tires, the bridgestones and bfg (heard horrible stories about wearing badly with that tire) and the toyo proxes4
One thing to keep in mind, the Proxes4 is the lightest tire out there 22lbs for our size. the Bridgestone is 25lbs, and 3lbs would help decrease fuel economy and acceleration, by how much I'm not sure.. but something to think about!

And mouse, I've heard too many bad things about wet traction with the kumhos, so I didn't even consider them.

and like i said before, the weight of the tire has eveything to do with rotational energy, energy required to spin the tire up. more = less mpg's since it requires more power to move a heavier tire. so far the proxes4 are the lightest for our stock size.

So it's not just me saying it... do what you will...you asked for help... I don't care whether you take the advice or not....makes not difference to me....but I've been around performance cars....racing and building for a very long time....so that's just my trial and tested opinion on that particular brand and model of tire......take it or leave it....just don't hate.
