Default New Tire Time

Ok, so, I've had the same tires on my tC since I got it back in 2008 with 15,000 miles on it. I'm at about 32,000 now, and the tires are looking pretty worn. Right now, I'm looking at either these:

Or these:

Edit, 3rd option: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....C&autoModClar=
Anyone have any experience/thoughts about these tires? Also, what are the advantages, if any, to going up to a 225/45/17?

^ These = Win. OEM size and a few dollars more for 225's. Won't last 30k but they are amazing for traction!

I would, but I can't afford to replace tires that often, and Denton's weather is just wrong enough to make rolling on summer tires year-round a bad idea.
