quit griping about the BRIDGESTONES!!!
I put these on both of mine and never looked back. I'll replace them with the same...
The cars had 800 miles and 1200 miles when I swapped to the 550's. I've got over 12K on them and they show very little wear.
Now, I don't spin them...it's pretty hard to. They grip so well. But, I do run corners pretty hard and I'm continually amazed at how well they hold...especially when wet.

so you were having a problem keeping traction out of first gear ....and now you dont have that problem w/ these tires? just confirm what you already said (cause im keeping this post for when i get new tires)
I run automatic trans...I don't have a clutch to dump.
However, I can nail it and they barely chirp. Hard braking is also amazing...no sliding. ALL grip, all WHOA!
I worry sometimes if someone behind me will stop as well as I can in a panic situation.

I'll have to get some close-ups...
The pics on my CarDomain page (link in my sig) show them but not well enough, really.
The TireRack.com pics are pretty good, though.
These tires don't have the sidewall "bump" to protect the rim. The sidewalls are actually vertically flush to the outer lip of the wheel... you'll see...

(picture just to show the thread)
i had my 05 two tires replaced with the RE95 quoted for $90 ea installed in a small shop... i bet i could've gotten the RE92s cheaper...
these had better quality than those freakin RE92... RE92s sux a$$... small bumps punctured both of them... pieces of poop... on the freakin side...
i like the yokohamas on my 06 a whole lot better... good in rainy dayz!
The Potenzas aren't THAT bad for daily driving. With 40000 miles on the car I still have 6/32's of tread left on all 4 wheels. Sure, they chirp when I stomp on it and are a bit squirrelly when it's wet...
Anyways, if you don't push your car, they'll last quite a bit. That said, yeah, there are alot of tires that are better replacements than the OEM RE92s.

I had always heard great things about Bridgestone tires, and was happy that they were on my tC...until the first time I drove in the rain. The car is flat out scary around curves unless you are going very slow. I have to take it real easy around cloverleafs on rainy days, which makes it difficult to get up to highway speed. I almost hit a wall in Chicago this weekend getting on the expressway.
Dry performance so far has been really good, though. Guess you can't have best of both worlds, but I am not going to get the Potenzas again.

Dry perfomance with the Bridgestones was ok. Wet traction was horrible. Barely step on the gas and these things spin out, I couldn't even imagine making an emergency stop with those and not skidding. Everytime it rained, I stayed like 10 car lengths away from other cars and had both hands on the steering wheel. If there's anything good about these tires, it's that they kept me on edge and alert while driving in the rain. I've since replaced them with Falken GR Beta FK-451s and they handle excellent in the rain. Z-rated, AA traction rating... much better than the Potenzas and also much cheaper.

i think they are good tires but then again i dont know much about tires. they do the job for me so its all good.... i still got a lot of tire tread and i had the car for one year and i dont drive that easy also... =-/
I have the yokos and they are wearing fast, but they are not half bad...in fact, I halfway like em! But I agree with all of the complaining about the potenzas...if you don't like them THAT much, it's probably because you are a "spirited" driver, in which case, go out and get some nice tires...the tC isn't made to be a ferrari or some other high end sports car...
i ditched the bridgestones after 3k miles out of concern for my own damn safety....ive never had tires make me feel that unsafe in the rain. ive got kdw2's now and i'm moving onto 550's, neogens, or exclaim uhp's when these die out. don't get me wrong, they're great tires. but for the 125 i paid per tire, i could have paid less than 85 bucks and gotten the exclaims.
