Default Replacement tires for tC

Does anbody got a good idea for replacement tires for the tC. I'm fixing to turn over 36,000 and looking to replace my tires soon. Should I stay with the same size Bridgestones? Maybe a cheaper alternative?

How much do those run? Someone told me the stock Bridgestones run $250 a piece.

If they're the RE92s... you need to get rid of that crap ASAP.

What are you looking for? Do you have to worry about snow at all ever? If so, you'd probably just want a good all-season. If you don't have any snow (or will get snows for winter) go for some good summer tires.

Oh... and tirerack.com and discounttiredirect.com for tires. Shop and compare.

For that price... they're AWFUL. They may not be bad tires, but you can do so much better for so much less.

bridgestone potenzas RE960 AS Pole Position
top of the line tires right there
go to tirerack and check out the test results

and just because they are bridgestone does not mean they are the same as the stock tires. it is ENTIRELY different.

If you just wanted summer tires, tirerack has Potenza RE01R's (one of the top tires in autox street tire classes last season) for very cheap right now ($104 ea in 225/45/17). They are normally $188.

The stock bridgestones are eclipsed in performance by tires that are around $100 ea. I previously had Avon TECH M550 all seaons and they were very nice tires, performed well in most conditions and you can get them for $90-$100 each. Destroy the stock Potenzas by a long shot and much cheaper.

I currently run Falken Ziex 912's which are about the same price as the Avons, but I dont like them nearly as much. They are complete crap in the snow for sure, even for all seasons.

Goodyear has some good ones out there as well.

Like mentioned above, look at discounttiredirect.com (not discounttire.com) and tirerack.com. They have good prices and tirerack gets lots of customer reviews on their tires so you can see how people like each tire.

There is always the Nitto Neo Gen, not that expensive. The other cousin of the Nitto is the Toyo Proxes4, also a great tire, just a little more money than the Neo Gens (Toyo is the parent company of Nitto)
