I have one of my brand new tires leaking air from my brand new wheels. Ive yet to take the tire off and put it in water to see where the leak is coming from. But it takes around a week for it to drop down to around 15psi or less... I don't see any nails or debris in my tire. Im thinking the valve stem seat might be off... Anyways I was going to try fix-a-flat or something or that sort but I hear that turns into water after a while and will ruin the inside of your rim. What would you guys suggest I try/do to fix this?

I would just splash some soapy water around the valve stem after fill it up... if it is that as you suspect, you can do that without having to even take the wheel off...

 

If it is a brand new tire, I would take it back and have it fixed.

 

It's probably the valve stem. But yeah, spray it with soapy water.

 

what does soapy water make it do .. create air bubbles ?

 

^^ That would be correct. Usually very little soap though.

R you sure you dont have a small dent in one of your new wheels?

 

if they are brand new you should get a replacement, but it sounds to me like your valve stem is off. I would just take it in and have someone look at it but I dont recommend that fix a flat stuff.

 

Ok well I put the wheel in the tub. I found its not the valve steam but rather to small leaks coming from around the rim. I guess the tire is not making a proper seal. Should I take the wheel back to the place that did it and see if they can fix it?

 

Yea, I would take it back. They should fix it for free if it was their fault for not getting the bead sealed correctly.
