yes they are bud, i used High temp flat black on my wheels. and high temp gold on the calipers. ( duplicolor ). couple of coats and everything looks great. make sure you clean and mask everything to taste. don't just blob pain on. make sure u got a good spray pattern.

so basically the engine enamel should work fine i just have to sand better? and prep better?

 

Now that we're talking about engine enamel... how would paint stick if used over engine enamel? I'd like to paint my wheels black (high temp paint), and then paint grahphite over the black, hoping that it would help the color turn out darker. I would prime under the black of course. And this probably would make no difference. Just a thought.

 

all you really have to do is sand the stock clean coat with the like 400 grit paper....prime...use wheel paint or engine enamel <---wayyy more colors lol then clear coat...let them cure for a few days and you're done

 

I already painted them black but i want to re do them. Do i have to take off all the old paint or just as much as i can?

I got back to sanding my wheels today. Argh.. I want to paint! My patience sucks!

I need your opinions, what sounds better: Graphite face/black inner wheel? Black face/Graphite inner wheel?

Alright, the only conclusion I could come up with my paint issue was not sanding down far enough.

Aircraft remover, primer, and WHEEL paint here i come :?

 

Finished sanding today. Couldn't paint though... it was way too windy. Had the help of some neighborhood kitteh.
