Has anyone had an issue with brighter colors "fading" or "burning" from the heat of the breaks. I did white base coat and orange on top. Few days later they started to fade/burn.

 

^ yeah the same exact thing is happening to me now, the sun doesnt help either.

that wheel would look horrible on the tC, and you would probably run into clearance issues

50mm is still terrible offset. I'd keep looking for a different set of rims. Rims are a big purchase. Be satisfied not settled.

 

Thanks for the feedback! you are 100% right, thats why I still have my stock rims (2 sets - black and gold) [bringing subject back to painted stock rims] and I have not purchased a set.

I brought up the question because my friend got a corolla and he bought these rims:

For sure they're not even terrible looking rims. Free is as good as it gets so I know what your saying. I always feel the wider the rim the better. So if your upgrading to 18"s I feel its a waste to only upgrade .5" in width. Its your opinion to what looks best hella/flush/sunk/poke/proper whatever.

Yo so FINALLY im painting my rims on payday monday...

so i was thinking on sanding, primer, and paint (duplicolor bronze i was told)

I used one can of primer, bought 4 cans of paint(you might not use it all), 600 grit, 800grit, 1000grit. that's all.

I think I only used 800 and 1000

 

oh wow seriously 4 cans of the actually paint?
someone told me like 1 was enough and 2 was for sure gonna leave u with leftovers, no?
and do u know how much the grits cost?

 

1 sure as hell isn't enough for 4 wheels. unless your putting one coat each. I got 4 just to be on the safe side and bc I put heavy paint coats on.

the sand paper varies. 4.99-12.99 roughly so it depends at pepboys or autozone
