Default Which tire size should I get on my lowered Scion tC?

Right now, I have 225/45/17 but I'm planning to get new tires.

I was thinking of either 215/50/17 or 225/50/17 so the car can be slightly higher to prevent potholes and front bumper scraps. Furthermore, the road comfort and noise will slightly be reduced, I think.

Or should I stick with what I currently have - 225/45/17 or factory original - 215/45/17.

Please let me know.
