Default Tires for life program.

Alrigt, I searched this topic but couldn't find much. After 30K miles my Bridgestone's are done. Two of them are bald. The other two are still good but one of them went flat and isn't fixeable. These tires aren't cheap.

My Scion dealership has the 'tires for life' program. And I'm wondering if anyone has had any problems with trying to get their tires. I've done most of my own service to the car, oil changes, tire rotations etc. Will they have some stupid stipulation regarding the 'tires for life' and find a way to weasel out of it?

I would be asking them but its after 5 o'clock here and they're closed. Any help I would appreciate.

btw the puke yellow spare looks fantastic with my azure pear paint...

are you asking if the program sucks AFTER buying new tires from them??
cuz thats what the program is for and applies to
you have to actually buy tires from them
we had that at a ford dealer i worked for, didn't like it very much
found it useless....

Key word here is 'most'...as opposed to 'all'. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that they will not give you tires based on this. I have heard nothing good about these programs. It's just a gimmick to get you to buy there and 9 times out of 10 get you to pay more for the car than at some place down the street. But you're in a Scion, so paying more shouldn't have been an issue.

If by some strange occurance they do give you tires, they are probably only a little bit better than forming a giant tire out of used rubberbands and condoms.

No I haven't bought tires from them before. I'm still on my first set.

I just dug out some paperwork out of the bottom of my glovebox and found the agreement. Basically it says you have to do everything at the dealership except sleep and eat there if you want these tires. I should've known.

Now another question: Anyone know any good sites for good inexpensive tires? lol

oh and let me say that they wont actually give you the exact tires back.. its "any tire of equal or lesser value" so you might not even get the crappy potenzas. they wont give you the program unles syou do all of the maintinance at the dealership, and it must be the one you bought it from i think.

The stock potenzas are so bad that I didn't even consider that program. I changed tires immediately after 1 blew.

I got kumho ecsta 711's for $52/per tire off of tirerack about a month ago. About a third of the price of new bridgestones.
