Default When to get new tires?

My car is a 2005 / 40,000 miles.

measure the tread depth with a tread depth gauge. anything less than 3/32" I would replace.

yep! but to add to sciontc_mich statement, I would also say that the stock tires are not worth trying very hard to hang on to. They are relatively poor tires. If they are more or less at that 3/32" point, I would get rid of them and ride on something much more safe.

hey Spect2k3, i agree with that statement! ^^^^ forgot to think about stock tires, keep thinking of the proxes4. But yeah even when new (10/32") the stock tires aren't that great.
