Default Widest wheels I can get?

Dear rim and tire all knowing people:

In my quest for big numbers on the car, I have finally gotten down to tires and rims.

My question is; how wide can I go on my rims while keeping camber at a relatively neutral setting? (not 0, but just enough for some fun cornering...)

I was looking at 9' wide rims and understandthe filament chart, but at what point do I need to start adding spacers or worrying about hitting anything with the I side of the tire?

Little info if it helps:
Tien SS-P dropped 1.4' (will adjust ride height a little to get a better stance if needed.)

fitment will depend on offset, tire size, drop, camber, etc.

if you post exact sizes (i.e. 18x9 +38 or whatever) along with tires size (i.e. 255/35/18 or whatever) people can tell you if it will fit, then you will just need to adjust your ride height and camber accordingly.

Was looking at a 17x9 40ish offset. I feel that if I get a 255/x/17 I can run with enough rubber (granted I can find a tire....or wheel with those measurements) to keep myself from losing three forward gears....

I have fit 17x9 +44 with 275/40/17 V710's, which run even wider than what they say. I ran -1.8 degrees negative in the front. I would look for lower offset though, as it will get close to the strut especially if you dont have camber plates.

This is what it looked like:

How do your tires handle the boost?

So how much lower of an offset? I love how yur car looks with those tires btw....slightly tucked or straight flush?

No camber plates yet....by that's why I am asking the questions....justto see what I will need to get a decent tire on this monster

The tires, being slicks, handled boost amazingly. Sticky tires like that allow even a pegg-leggin over-powered front drive to to un-holy things lol

Without camber plates, you run the risk of the tire hitting the springs. Camber bolts will not help, they will only make it worse.

I would try and get around a 35-40 offset, it would allow more clearance from the strut and other things inboard. I also have my fenders rolled and pulled to accommodate those tires too.

Pretty set on a 17x9..... 30-40 offsets. 255 or 265 (if possible) tire. Now to work the corners and find a set of BBS LMs! (or somethig similar to them....not really built for looks but I do like the rims)

Appreciate the help!

Might be worth looking into the Team Dynamics, they will make you a 17x9 in whatever offset you want and drill whatever bolt pattern for $850 new. Thats what we are running this season on the Lotus.
