I would like to disassemble my headlights to install halos and paint the reflector,
can anyone tell me the best way to go about getting the headlight out, apart, and back together?

pictures would be nice lol

 

uninstall the headlights then, bake open the heads with a oven open them install the halos then bake them close

yeah i can't remember exactly the temp, but those forums that pop up in google is what i used haha.

 

im actually iffi about the baking in the oven part so i just used a heat gun and a flat head bro. you can use the heat gun to put it back together also, thats how i did mine =) it take a matter of seconds per inch and you dont have to wry about burning anything lol....pm me if you need help =)

 

I didn't need a heat gun, but i do agree you may need a flat head screw driver probably something u wont need after because once that glue dries its stuck lol.. And to be on the safe side when u put them back together get more glue from lightwerks so it'll be sealed perfectly..

 

haha i believe il try heat gun first then oven bc i dont want to be paying for new headlights but ill do some practicing i have a few old headlights from past cars, see witch works better

If you're going for baking. It's 215 degrees for 10 minutes. Just make sure don't go further the time limit.

Yeah, baked mine @ 215 for around 15 minutes I wanna say. This is safer than a heat gun in my opinion. With a heat gun, you aren't guaranteed even heating and also you run the risk of over-heating if you hold the gun in one spot too close or for too long.
