9005 LED's for High Beams / DRL's
Has anyone switched their high beam lights to an LED style bulb?
I've been thinking of switching mine since I put in HID's and started hating the yellow DRL's. I finally got around to looking into doing this swap.
Pros:
-Looks nice as DRL's in Canadian tC's
-Looks great with HID's as there are 5000k and 6000k color options.
-Instant on for that quick flash to the other driver at night
Cons:
-No projection to the beams which makes high beams useless
-Not as bright as halogen's
Losing the high beams is a big thing. But then again how often do I use them? Maybe once a year? If you need to quickly flash a driver then the LED's should be enough indication right? DRL's don't legally need to have a projection to them.
It looks like Canadian tC's will need an adapter. I found this one from iJDMToy:

Because it is for Toyota vehicles I am going to assume it will work for Scion's.
USA tC's should work fine with just a bulb swap and no need for the above adapter.
My other option is to just not go with LED and instead choose a 4100k SilverStar Ultra, 4200k SilverStar zXe, Phillips CrystalVision Ultra, or GE Nighthawk Sport. At least this way I'll have my high beam at night and DRL in the day. The color is more or less white and looks alright with the 6000k HID's I got now and not ugly like the yellow stock halogen's!
Anyone have opinions on changing to LED's or should I just go with one of the above 4000K-ish halogen's?
