Chipped windshield
Hey guys I was driving the other day and took a rock to the windshield. It took a chip out of it but its really small Probably the size of a pen tip. Or if you use a sharpy and tap the ink to a piece of paper thats about the right size. Should I worry about this? here in florida insurance companies fix windshield stuff for no cost to the customer but Like I said the chip is so small Im not sure I should call it in or not any Ideas?
i dont think it'll make too much difference. i've got a bunch of them on the lower passenger side of mine to where i thought it was a bunch of sap or something butits same size chips as yours thanks to arkansas highway lol
I have one that I noticed, again, tiny tiny tiny. It's a surface divit. I'm a freak about my cars. If the slightest thing is wrong, I don't care how much it is to fix it, but I fix it immediately. I brought it to Safelite (my insurance would have covered the repair) and the guy told me there is nothing you can do about it because it's not a crack. The surface divits cannot be filled or anything because there is nothing for the resin to grab onto and fill because its not like a crack. He is totally right, I didn't think about it. But anyways, I said, I am still worried about the divit, I don't want it to cause anymore problems or get bigger. He said this is nothing of that nature, it cannot spread or weaken the windshield in any way. He said the only way to fix this would be to replace the windshield, but he said if you replaced it everytime you got a divit, you'd be in here once a week, and he's right, if you look really close, there's like a million on the bottom of your windshield from micro rocks, it's ridiculous. Bottomline, I'm a freak and was really worried, but trust me, you are golden my friend.
Well not sure how it works out there but I know Allstate will automatically cover repairs to the windshield at no cost but if you need to replace it then youll have to pay your deductible. They usually repair it if its smaller than a dollar bill. Try contacting Safelite Auto Glass
