Sort of new to the mod arena. I notice that alot of the Gen 2 tCs running around my area have brighter/whiter headlights.

Are they running replacement bulbs or retrofitting the entire assembly? If so any suggestions as to the best replacement bulbs and where to buy?

I think that you are possibly talking about HID's, in that case they would just be replacing the stock bulbs with the HID bulbs, also you will need to find a place to put the ballast's

Go with the 35W, they are plenty bright, and I would go with 5000K. Gives a nice bright look without too much blue, when you use blue bulbs, you cant see too much and its more for looks. Plus, when the oncoming traffic is blinding you at night, and you look down at the road, the blue does almost nothing.

As far as a place to put the ballast, it is a small box about 1/2 inch thick, 2" x 3" and they give you double sided mounting tape and zip ties so its easy to find a place to put them. Then just plug and play into your old bulb harness

Thanks for the help guys!

So 35w? what bulb number does my '13 tC take and do I need to order any of those extra cables (mounting bracket, HID harness, error eliminator, adapter cables)?

H11 is the bulb type. you don't need any other accessories. just the basics that come with the kit.

i am running two pairs of HIDs (projectors and fogs) and they both operate just fine with out any of those accessories.

The lead coming from the ballast, combined with the lead running from the bulb make a pretty long cable.

I was able to place the driver side fog ballast taped to the side of the battery, and the passenger side fog ballast secured near the windshield washing fluid reservoir.

You could grab some of these as well to aid in ballast placement if you still need more length.

So most people are running HID conversion kits (like DDM) instead of just changing out the bulbs?

yeah, you need to actually need to go HID in order to see a noticeable difference. i first swapped my OEM bulbs for Sylvania SilverStar Ultras (high-end halogen bulbs), and i noticed a slight increase in brightness...however, you can get a reasonably priced HID kit (like DDM) for the same price.
