How to prevent low beams from coming on when flashing highs?
Present behavior:
During the day, when low beams are off, if you flash somebody, the car flashes lows and highs together.
Desired behavior:
Flashing turns on high beams only.
Any idea how to make that happen? My main concern is to preserve the fullest possible lifespan for my HIDs, and I'm aware that on/off cycles have an appreciable negative impact on lifespan, particularly for HIDs.
Separately, how would I stop the low beams from flashing when the alarm comes on, but otherwise preserve all other functions of my low beams?

During the day, when lights are off don't "flash someone" by using the brights. Instead flash them by cycling lights on off quickly. This would use low beams only. Serves the same function and is only milliseconds slower.
Not sure about the alarm.

umm... I don't think that works.. he wants to "prevent" the sudden on/off of low-beams to prolong his HID's life... typically HID's are low-beams...
I personally would recommend not to mess with those electrical connections... its cheaper to get replacement bulbs and ballasts...
The low-beams really also turn on when you pull the blinker lever in?? I always thought it was just the brights!...
How often do you flash others and use your alarm though? Enough for this to really be worth it?

I'd like to know this as well. I've wished the tC had flash-to-pass ever since I've had my 1G. If constant power could be provided to the high beam relay then it should work. Since right now it's contingent on the low beams being on.
Maybe something similar to how people rewire the fogs to come on with the parking lights. Except use a constant source like an ignition wire.
