Question Spoiler Wanted..

Honestly I'm very picky on what I want and don't know what to do. People all tell me to get a factory looking style spoiler for my 2012 Scion tC but not a actual Toyota part they said to go aftermarket and save money and I am not sure what to do.

This:

http://trdsparks.com/displayparts.ph...&parts_id=3722

or this:

http://www.carid.com/2012-scion-tc-s...er-664817.html

I want a identical to the factory spoiler, the body shop said they would charge 100 for painting the aftermarket one and installing and this a good body shop know them for a long time.
What do you guys think I should do and for the aftermarket one do I need the template?

I'm not installing and do I need the strut lifts or whatever they are called please help want a good looking spoiler installed right no leaks and drilled right the first time.

You're a certified mess dude. Hahaha. You started like six new threads all within like 10 minutes. I mean, I like that there is some action on here and something new to read, but a mess none the less. Good luck tC2 owner.

Slow down hot shot. You'll ruin the enoyment of slowing modifying your car if you burn yourself out so quickly doing it all at once. I usually ponder a mod and do research for at least a few months before I pull the trigger on anything.

Check out rock auto for all OEM parts.
Personally, I think the OEM spoiler is the most aesthetically appealing.

$100 for painting and installing a spoiler is NOTHING. To give you a general idea:

I was quoted $1200 to paint my Mazda6's front bumper
$400 to paint over some scratches that took up about a 4 x 6 in area
AND, when first 6 was totaled, the parts to fix only cost $2,000, but the repair bill was going to be well over $8,000.

My point, body work (and particularly painting) is expensive. If you can get a spoiler just painted for $100 by a reputable shop, that's a steal. Getting it installed for that price is even better. If it's something that you know you want, go for it. But make sure you definitely want it. Once those holes are drilled in your trunk, they're there forever.

Couldn't agree more.
For reference, body shops generally charge $300/body panel.

Lucky, I wish mine charged that! Just to fix a little bit of spidering from someone backing into my old car was going to be close to $750.

I got mine on Ebay for $120 painted with color code (1G3 - Magnetic Gray)

the paint was an exact match and i installed it myself. drill gun and a lot of patience.

I bought my car in Feb 2012 and installed it around March and so far no issues and the paint is still in great condition.

here is the link btw:

here is a pic of when i had just installed it

The ebay spoiler comes with the alignment tabs and screws. I added 3m tape underneath as well. There is no difference between the ebay one and the oem one. I've parked my car next to other TCs at the dealer when I go for service and they are identical. Its only a spoiler you'll be ok.

when it comes to oem or aftermarket for body parts i like oem just for fitment, sometimes the aftermarket stuff doesn't fit right. or with fog lights the light output isn't as good as oem (well, for an integra anyways).

but honestly i see it the same as rims. 'real' rims vs 'fake' rims. both do the same thing but one has more R&D than the other and one is a fraction of the price. people may hate, but people will hate because they just hate.

on that note, i may get that wing that was posted above with the link and i plan to buy rota rims. so i may just be bias, but thats my .02 cents

Did your spoiler come with all the parts needed for installment?
