Touch up Paint and Paint for Rim
Hey guys i need some help. I have a few rock chips in my paint and was hoping that a bit of touch up paint will not make them look as noticeable and maybe even prevent rust. Is it possible to maybe wipe the chip with some sort of alcohol to clean the surface and dry it before applying the paint? or is this detrimental to paint/ not needed at all?
I have an MGM tC2, where can I find a good source for cheaper touch up paint of this color? is the dealer the only source right now?
Also one of my rims has a little curb rash and i was wondering if I could just sand that down and paint it some color (to match wheel color) to cover it up and make it unnoticeable? what paint color and type would work for our stock rims?
thank you for any help!

not sure about paint.
but sand with 200 grit at the curb rash (you can go beyond the area, but dont go crazy), clean, apply bondo, sand until smooth/even with 400 grit, clean, paint, dry

The paint on the TC is super cheap or they do a very bad job. My TC is only 2 months old and it has a ton of chips on my hood, side doors, etc. I imagine i'd have to repaint the whole entire car in a couple years....I guess that gives me an excuse to try out a different colour.

same here - i have a few rock chips on my paint. I'm going to try getting touch up paint off amazon for $25. because redoing the paint is extremely expensive if you want it done right. you are likely looking at many thousands of dollars. a $1,000 paint job is not likely to last 5 years. no problem if you plan on selling before then, but if you're not then you'll have to get a pro paint-job lol.

Newman, just make sure you know that just painting it ain't gonna do jack shish. It's the clear coat that keeps it from rusting. I see you made that comment about rust. That is what keeps it away, not the paint. I advise you to take care of those spots because that is what turns into big rust spots and eventually holes in your hood/body. Take some before and after pictures. I'm kind of pumped to see how it turns out for you.

Thank you for the tip! the $25 thing comes with touch up paint and clear coat. i should be protected no?
and yea the metal body parts like hood are what I'm worried about and my C pillar. the front bumper and other stuff that are also affected are fiberglass so no risk of rust there luckily.
When i get it and do the fix, I'll post pictures
