2011 Scion tc Transmission replacement or rebuild
Im not sure if this topic has been put in here before. So i am sorry if it has been. I got a 2011 scion tc that i am the original owner of. Pretty well since day one i ad the same bearing issue. I took it in under warranty and they replaced it no questions asked but when i got it back i noticed that it shifted weird and still made the same noise. I was young and dumb and never got it fixed till it was too late(warranty was up). Now fast forward to a few years back an it started not staying in second gear it would randomly pop out till it got to the pint that it wouldn't go in until a certain RPM. Then it went to a point that it just simply wont go into second gear at all just grinds and doesn't engage. looked. at buying a new or used transmission and holy cow were they a lot of money. the autos were the ones that were super cheap. I have a work truck so i have been driving that and the car was just parked for a while. I kind of want to dust the old girl off and get it fixed. went and looked for a manual transmission and WOW they are still expensive. So now i am floating around the idea of a rebuild. Does anyone know what may be the issue is? Worn out synchro gears maybe? and where to get a kit that would have all that? also maybe a good video on tc manual transmission rebuilds as well.
Sorry for the long winded story
P.S. im also in Saskatchewan Canada so if anyone knows of a place i can just get a solid used one for cheap close by that would be helpful too.
