Default 2011 tC won't start!

While driving, my car stalled. Battery light came on, then all the other warning lights on the dash and lost power steering. Put it in neutral after it stalled, cranked it back up, drove it to the house (I was already in the neighborhood). All the warning lights were still on and no power steering. Next day brother said it was either the belt or the alternator. Moved it into the driveway just fine. Belt was fine so I replaced the alternator (yes, I did disconnect the battery). Went to start it and nothing... tried to jump it... nothing. Took battery up, it tested bad, I'm assuming the bad alternator drained it. They exchanged it because it was less than a year old. Put in the new battery, still nothing. I say nothing but some things are working.

Things that work:
Dome lights
Dash lights
Headlights
Dings when key is in and door is open

Things that don't work:
Won't crank
no brake lights
No tail lights
No clock
No radio
No windows
No locks
Wont shift from park

I pushed the button near the gear shifter to manually shift it into neutral to attempt to start it, no change.

The fuel pump is humming when I attempt to start it. I have checked all of the fuses. Im trying to find the neutral safety switch to check that, I can't find it. I've taken apart all around the shifter (automatic) and don't see it so idk if it's on the transmission.

Any suggestions? Im not a mechanic by any means but I'll give it my best. Just a woman who needs to fix her car.

Have you checked the fusible link?

From what I can see through the clear panel it doesn't look broken, burned, or cloudy. Is there something else I should do?

Do you have a DTS scanner?

I don't have a 2nd gen repair manual however the first gen park/neutral position switch is under the hood near the shift solenoid valves. Here's a link to get a visual of the part.

Default Update!

It was the fusible link! Let me tell you how much of a pain in the ___ that was! You have to remove the air intake, computer, and the fuse box so you can take it apart to access it from the bottom! That's the last time I let a friend try to jump my car! Apparently she left the vehicle running while she hooked up the cables!

Well done! What tipped you to suspect the fusible link?
