OEM Exhaust system - modifications?

Reading that muffler delete thread, and something WellesleyScion said got me thinking: "The design of the OE exhaust is the exact same as a Magnaflow straight through."
If the exhaust is a decent piece of equipment already, what other modifications can one do the car to improve/deepen the sound, without losing the back pressure?

There is a thread in here about loosening the connection to the exhaust, perhaps putting a washer in there to give you some noise, but I'm just looking at brainstorming ideas.
Thoughts?

My 2 cents: when you are talking about modifying the exhaust, you have to look at the entire exhaust system as a whole (headers, s-pipe, mid-pipe, axle-back) . Ive never dealt with the Magnaflow pieces, but if you are just refering to the axle back section, then yeah its probably pretty similar. The most restrictive parts are up front though, and stock from the factory, the TC has 3 catalytic converters which tend to make it quite asthmatic.
Here is my current set-up that I absolutely love:
1) DC Headers (ceramic coated)
2) Inividia S-pipe (with Strup anti-fouler)
3) Stock Mid-pipe
4) TRD-Axleback
The sound is much better, the response is much better through the entire powerband, and I've still got plenty of back pressure that you would normally lose if you ran a straight pipe/test pipe. I haven't upgraded the mid-pipe yet because there honestly isn't a high quality one on the market that I know of (the Tsudo one sucks), and I did want to keep at least one catalytic converter.
As for modifying the stock exhaust....you cant really do anything with the oem header or s-pipe, you could theoretically core out the mid-pipe but it would be a collossal waste of time, and as for the axleback I do distinctly remember a thread on here a while back written by a guy who strangely seemed to be accumulating a lot of condensation/water inside his axleback and so he drilled a hole in the bottom of the muffler section to drain it. I'm not saying I recommend this procedure, but he did say it modified the sound somewhat.

Sanders has a tC1, that's why he has the DC headers. Dezod will be releasing their headers very soon:

You are going to want that one. People have said the Weapon-R has fitment issues. Also, it doesn't have a cat.
