Default A quick question for anyone who swapped motor mounts..

I was going to do this yesterday but I ran into a small problem. How do you get the mount's center bolt off with such little room? I'm a real small guy and my _____ arms would not budge it. Another question was can I work under the car without jacking up the motor? I was gonna hit it from that approach but my buddy talked me out of it lol.

I've seen people jack up the engine a little bit to loosen the center bolt out, you just have to find a safe hard place on the engine to do it and be careful how far you lift. As I recall it does have a little free play to do so. Check this guy out, he even does it that way.

Hey Mark, you should be able to do it without doing anything to the motor. I did it a couple times with that mount. You need to do it when the engine is cool for sure. If your a small guy maybe get a bigger buddy. I had to work on it for a little bit but I got it. As for the bolts underneath, you can easily reach those without jacking up the car, and you can also do all this without jacking up the motor. The only one you need to jack up the motor for is the rear motor mounts and I don't believe they make after market mounts for that anyways.

Good luck! a cheap breaker bar might help break that loose.

Heres an easy video. Its not the GGP Mount that you have, but it will be the same process.

Nick, caprice, sorry for the super late response but I'm a lazy bastard. I finally did the my motor mount yesterday and it was super easy. If anyone does stumble upon this thread all I can say is find a small piece of pipe to use as a breaker bar and you're golden. Took about ten minutes if that. I'm not too sure how I feel about the product itself. It gives a better sound in the cabin, shifts feel a litttttttle better, and at low idle things do vibrate quite a bit. I actually don't mind too much but I'm afraid my girl or my mom won't be too fond of it. I havent had the chance to launch it yet so hopefully it will pay off. Next is an intake or maybe a new pulley.

Basicly it makes launching or sudden acceleration feel smoother. An added perk is that the car will sound like it has an exhaust, but only on the inside, which sounds sillly but if you drive manual it makes shifting by sound easier, especially if you like your radio loud.

The only negative is when the ac or defogger is on while idling, it makes the car feel like it wants to stall, but as soon as you get past 900 rpms it goes away completely. The shaking is not terrible or audible from the outside of the car, but definitely noticeable from inside the cabin. I also read that this gives automatic cars the super shakes.

I definitely feel that it has made ride more enjoyable and for the price it is a great mod, although I don't think I would wanna do this if I drove auto. Hope that helps.
