Stock Intake W/ Intake Flow Accelerator Chopped... Need opinions
Hey All,
Wanted to get some thoughts here.
Ever since I bought the car I've been looking at my intake and thinking something was off. Finally it clicked.
The rides original intake with flow accelerator installed was modded to fit a Spectre filter. I'm not entirely sure why this was done, but my gut tells me there wouldn't have been any gains from it. The top cover is now completely gone.
I'd love your thoughts on this scenario and how I should proceed.
I'm thinking I have two options -
1. Purchase the original airbox cover again along with the proper filters and remove the Spectre stuff.
Or
2. Swap the system out for a new intake.
Thanks for the input!

The biggest thing I see wrong here, is the location of the MAF sensor. Although it is in the OEM location, the air will not go through the sensor smoothly, and will give a false reading.
Suggestions: 1: Remove the filter and replace the air box cover with a good one. Install a K&N filter and remove the 2nd filter that's in the air box lid. 2: Remove what's left of the OEM air box and extend the filter further from the MAF. This should provide a better reading at the sensor and not cause any issues down the road. Are you going to gain anything from either of these? Not likely. But if you are going to do it, do it right.
