Amp not turning on
Well took it to shop today. The guy told me it was just a bad remote wire, and said something about the ground wire being bad too. 30 bucks and it's all working now, I'm surprised that the wires were bad, I shelled out an extra 15 bucks over cheap wires for them.
Yellow is the wire I would've hooked up to in the first place (with a 3a fuse inline) for your remote turn on, using the factory amp turn on may not provide enough amperage which is what it sounds like your issue was to me.
It also sounded as though you had a bad ground, always when grounding strip the paint from the area and tap your own ground screws (EDIT: when tapping your own ground ALWAYS check, check again and check once more to make sure your not drilling into a gas tank, fuel lines or wire harnesses). Factory seat bolts and factory grounds should not be used for aftermarket equipment grounds, it will just save you a lot of headaches in the long run.
A simple way to test if your amp is working or not without hooking all of your stuff up in another car is to simply take a short piece of wire stripped on both ends and touch the 12v input of your amp from the battery to the remote turn on, if the amp turns on then you know where your issue lies.
And most shops offer a bench check, any best buy will do it for $20 it gets you 15 minutes for them to check your equipment.
