Yes, there is a factory amp. You need to wire the remote turn on wire from the aftermarket radio to the power antenna wire for the Metra harness (or equivalent).

Besides that, everything else wires direct. So speakers to speakers, power to power, ground to ground, etc.

Sorry to bring up an old thread for my first post but I'm trying to find out what color the wire is for the remote turn on for the factory amp is. I know for its usually blue but wanted to be sure before i take the dash apart.

Just got me the new 2011 TC and have read that without this being wired up with my aftermarket deck the 6.5" in the front doors will not work.

70-1761 is the metra part #. Pretty much every toyota made vehicle since 87 uses it unless it was factory amplified 1992 and up. But even some of the amplified toyotas still use the 1761. Here are the wires:

Radio 12V
blue+radio, white 10 pin plug, pin 4
Radio Ground
brown-radio, white 10 pin plug, pin 7
Radio Ignition
yellow+radio, white 10 pin plug, pin 3
Radio Illumination
gray (parking lights); blue (dimmer)+,-radio, white 10 pin plug, pin 10; white 6 pin plug, pin 5
Factory Amp Turn-on
white (woofer amplifier)+radio, white 10 pin plug, pin 9
Power Antenna
red+radio, white 10 pin plug, pin 8
Left Front Speaker (+/-)
pink - purple (mid-range and tweeter)+,-radio, white 10 pin plug, pins 2 and 6
Right Front Speaker (+/-)
lt. green - blue (mid-range and tweeter)+,-radio, white 10 pin plug, pins 1 and 5
Left Rear Speaker (+/-)
black - yellow+,-radio, white 6 pin plug, pins 2 and 6
Right Rear Speaker (+/-)
red - white+,-radio, white 6 pin plug, pins 1 and 3
Center Channel (+/-)N/A
Subwoofer (+/-)
woofer amplifier uses LF and RF for preamp input
Aux. Audio Input Left (+/-)

white - black+,-radio, white 20 pin plug, pins 17 and 16
Aux. Audio Input Right (+/-)
red - black+,-radio, white 20 pin plug, pins 15 and 16

Notes: The woofer speaker wires are yellow - black (LF); red - white (RF) at the woofer amplifier, white 10 pin plug, pins 1 and 5; 2 and 6. The woofer amplifier is under the driver seat.

If you get the above metra part harness you can just plug it into the harness behind the radio since everything lines up correctly to the right pin.

The 6pin plug is for the rear speakers and the 10pin is the main one. You need both of those in order for it to work. The plugs on the other side is for steering wheel control and avc-lan

The 6x9's won't work unless the amp under the drivers seat is powered on.

This wire handles that:
white (woofer amplifier)+radio, white 10 pin plug, pin 9
This wire is blue on the aftermarket harness and decks.

And the solid blue metra wire will also power the antenna amplifier. There will be loops going to 2 or 3 different pins on the harness.
