Default Underglow Idea/Question

So I ordered underglow last night and I was thinking about how I could turn it on with my keys alone. I want it to be similar to the maplight/dome, how if I were to put it to the proper setting (i.e. when the doors open, unlock car with keys) they go on. Does anyone have a clue as to how I would go about this?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Haven't been a huge fan of underglow lights since after the whole Fast & Furious scene got played out. But I have to admit...having a kit that just mirrored the behavior of the dome lights would actually be kinda cool...

I'm sure there is a way, and I'm sure there a few players on this forum that know enough about wiring with this car to make it happen. I'll be checking in on this thread!

Run a new power connection, use could use a add-a-circuit, to a relay and use the dome light circuit to trip the 12v relay, do not wire the light directly to the door light or you run a chance of blowing the dome light circuit.

Any local auto parts store should have the add part. There are a couple sizes to fit different size fuse plugs, so just be sure to get the one that'll fit. Should be about $10

Only concern with tapping directly into the dome light, is you may trip your dome light fuse. I have a couple LED strips on the dome light circuit without any issues, but neon will take a lot more power...

You don't want to do that. each circuit is only designed to handle a certain amount of current. Allowing more current to pass is an electrical and fire hazard.

the fuses are typically set to make sure you don't damage what is on the other end not because the wires are not strong enough to handle the current and all you would need to do is run the wire typically going to the switch to the switch in the dome light...
