Default (URGENT) aftermarket headunit trouble

ok guys i have a problem. i traded a guy my pioneer avh-p3300bt headunit for his oem alpine premium headunit. i gave him the wiring harness and everything he would need for a direct plug & play no problem install. he says he hooked everythingup and it works fine until he gets going over 20mph, and then he says the headunit automatically shuts off. what could this possibly be? what could he have hooked up wrong? thanks

If the radio probably has a speed sensor..maybe that isn't connected.

Does it come back on? Is it always 20mph exact? My guess would be a bad power or ground connection that jiggles lose while the car is in motion.

this sounds like it could be a loose wire or an incorrect wiring job has he made sure everything is hooked up correct... And refresh my memory is this a single din radio or double din and does it have a DVD player

Doubledin and it does have a DVD player. Probably has a speed sensor. If he's trying to play DVDs, the H/U is supposed to turn off when the car is in motion. If you want it to run while the car is moving, you have to bypass it.

Stock Pioneer Premium H/U has something similar, but with the e-brake.

Yea if he of trying to watch a dvd thats why but if not then he probably had the dvds ground wire (that shuts off the dvd, player when on motion wired to the stock harness which will not work and wil cut out

Does the headunit power off or does the video simply stop displaying?

If its just the video there are 2 ways of doing a bypass. Let me know what exactly the issue is and I will post up how to bypass it if necessary.

Guess it wasn't that urgent. 3 days of people offering help and no response from OP.
