Default $2900 VSA?

So I'm looking at the website, and they have Vehicle Service Agreements for 6/7/8 years for 1150/1350/1100/1325, and then I look at my paperwork and it shows a 5 year service plan for $2900? They say it is basic coverage for mechanical parts, but with the standard 3 year warranty, $2900 works out to 1450/year for years 4 and 5.
Is it typical for dealers to slap on these extended service contracts at stratospheric prices? Did they think I wouldn't notice?

I'm getting this refunded tomorrow as I don't want to pay quite that much for just basic drivetrain coverage.

If you want I can get the place I bought mine froms info tomorrow and call them.

Sorry 3rd post, states regulate the prices of Vsa prices in some , alaska wanted 2900
Other state wanted 1100 so bought over phone
Week later my Vsa showed up in Alaskas system and genuine

Thanks FreedomPenguin. I verified this information here - you can buy a VSA anywhere in the continental USA as well as Alaska/Hawaii - and Toyota will honor any of them regardless of where they were purchased. Different dealers use different companies for coverage, but any Toyota/Scion dealer is required to honor any VSA sold by a Toyota/Scion dealer.
Also of note - they said if you buy a VSA after 30,000 miles, the cost is significantly more.

I think there's a 3 year time gap or mileage that you have to buy it in, idk if price fluctuates after that or before.

I should wait until the original overpriced VSA is cancelled before putting a new one on.
In case your photos are lost - the numbers are
978-263-1500 / 1800-228-8559
I've noted them down for later here.
