Pure beauty! How long until we can purchase these items?
Real Carbon Fiber Trim for the tC2! Rogue Se7ens has done it! So far the only pieces they have are for the steering wheel and the door handles, but more are coming and what I have so far is incredible! I'll do a full review in a day or so, but for now, here are a few pictures of the pieces. I apologize the steering wheel pics aren't so good. Didn't get them in until after dark.
Cost is $70 for both door handles and $110 for the 3 steering wheel pieces. I have to get with Rogue Se7ens on all the color options, but Red, Yellow, Orange and Grey are definitely available.

I will put this in the review, but I'll put it out there now so no one is surprised if they go to Rogue Se7ens before my review is done.
There is one drawback to these. He's putting CF over your existing pieces.
Q. What's the affect on the buyer?
A. You'll be without your trim pieces for a little while. The pieces he's done for me took about 4 days, so add shipping time to that and figure that's how long you'll be without them.
Q. Why isn't he making the trim completely out of CF instead of covering existing plastic?
A. It's because of the clips. Plastic works great to snap parts in and out. Carbon Fiber, not so much.
Q. Will all the parts be done this way?
A. Hopefully not. Pieces like the cooling plate can be fabricated completely out of CF because they don't have the plastic clips built in. So it really depends on how the trim is made. The big one I'll have to let you know on is the rear hatch garnish.

Oh, i thought these would be full carbon fiber but that makes sense with the ones that have clips. So basically, he is using di-noc and wrapping those pieces, it seems. I was planning on doing that myself if there were no companies that would make the parts. I guess it'll be something i'll have to reconsider. Thanks for the updates!
Damn i feared they were going to cover original parts...that's how the dash on the OEM tC was done.
I guess it's okay...the car can be driven without the steering wheel part right?

@scionchicop: If you can do it, more power to you! I know nothing about CF or fiberglass.
@Errikos: See the above comment. I will refer to someone smarter than me on this.
@KidJustin: Yeah, it's unfortunate, but the alternative is to get plastic pieces too and then the trim would be crazy expensive. And you can drive without the trim in the steering wheel. You just won't have your audio controls.
I do have an extra gauge hood and door handles thanks to devanb3. So if we do one at a time, you can potentially only be without those parts for a very short time.
Also found out that there are a lot of color options. The basic colors are black, dark blue, red, orange, and yellow. There are a lot of other color options too (green, purple, pink, and light blue, etc) but they will cost more.
I'm curious to know your feedback. Is having to send in the original parts okay or will that stop you from getting it done?

Thanks, superpickel. And Jim (Rogue Se7ens) did say he doesn't use any wraps. Only real CF and fiberglass when applicable.
EDIT: I emailed him again to double check. I'll let you know when he emails me back.

Jim got back to me last night and here's the deal on the trim pieces. I probably used the wrong term before, but the pieces are receiving a carbon overlay with an epoxy seal.
- They are 100% real carbon, no wrapping or vinyl.
- If you get a color (like I got red), the carbon is woven with died kevlar
- Once installed, the piece is covered in an epoxy resin. (Many places use a less expensive, polyester resin, but the epoxy adheres better and will last longer)

but that is exactly how i thought it was done

moar info pweez (well i just want to know how much white or silver would cost and if hes going to do any other parts....the HVAC ***** would be sick...but maybe a little difficult because of the ridges...i would also like a OEM style CF shift **** for my auto
)
He can do just about any color out there. I am in the process of buying lime green/black carbon fiber/ fiberglass 2 x 2 twill weave. I plan on overlaying it myself and epoxying it myself. There are variants of red, blue, green, yellow, purple, pink, reflective colors, holographic... the list goes on and on. Just search for carbon fiber fabrics. Most will be sold by the yard and with a width of 50"
The HVAC ***** are not practical b/c you wouldn't be able to wrap the cf on the inside of the ****. Also, the shift **** might prove to be a little difficult as well b/c of the round shape and trying to create an end for the bottom of the ****. The fabric would overlap and look crappy...

Just the material alone

So the price for good epoxy and professionaly done sounds very reasonable

Gauge hood isn't done yet. He's having trouble figuring out exactly which parts he can cover so it looks right. It probably won't be the entire hood, but maybe the inside of each of the main gauges and the light grey trim. We'll see. Jim really does great work. He even got the CF to line up between pieces on the steering wheel.
To answer Justin's question. Silver is available, but is hard and doesn't do curves well, so he may not be able to do silver in all the pieces. He's never done white, but he's looking.
Please keep the questions coming. Jim did great work and I can't say enough about the quality. Even my wife, who isn't a car person, said she was impressed at how the CF turned out.
