Trying to Wire my cigarette lighter direct to stay on when car is off, I spend most my time there studying but need my phone or any other device to charge without turning on my stereo or anything else. I know my battery will die if I leave it on too long. also anyone know a good phone charger? android phone charges but when im using my gps on my phone doesn't want to charge. changed cables, and plug any ideas on how to charge your phone faster? thanks

 

To wire the 12v outlet to be on when the car is off, you need to run a wire to and unswitched hot. You could run a single wire directly to the battery and remove the factory switched hot wire from the outlet, replacing it with your new wire. As for charging your phone faster, look up "fast charge usb cable". Just be aware the fast charge cable does not support data transmission, only charging. Hope that helps

 

Also, look for a high amperage (higher than 1.5/1.6 amps) 12volt usb car charger. The higher ampacity will allow faster charging than standard usb car chargers
