Descendant or Injen CAI??

I rode in my buddies tc with both intakes and i would have to say the Descendant is so much better you can feel the power. plus you can get it here http://www.obnoxiousperformance.com/...p/desi-tc2.htm

i have an injen CAI with the hydroshield and heatshield on my 1G tC. that guy said that you can feel the power with the descendant one but im gonna say you cant feel it with any of them. what you can feel is better throttle response, doesnt give enough hp to actually feel a difference. you can also notice the difference in sound when you accelerate. an intake should give you better gas mileage when installed, some ppl say its not significant gain on mpg with it. i say once you get past the point when you keep speeding up and pushing your car to hear the sound you will notice the gain in mpg. I went from Las Vegas to Disneyland this weekend and used 1/2 a tank of gas to get there, all the other times before the Injen CAI i would use 3/4.

For the most part, you are not gonna see hp gains despite what you have heard. As someone stated before, you might feel a better response. You will also hear the mean, aggressive rumble that is associated with intakes. As for the water, Descendant doesn't offer a hydroshield, but you can buy one from Injen and place it over the cone filter.
I know MightyP has started a group buy for a painted option and I think he is going through obnoxiousperformance. The moderator of that website is a member on Scionlife and a tc2 owner as well. Also, he offers competitive prices. His name on here is Papa_Bear. Great way to support the scion community. He also has injen intakes for sell.

i own an injen, and i will most likely be switching to descendent when i have the money to spend on it due to the fact that the injen tricks the maf sensor making the car run more lean (lots of info in the injen intake thread), and because of the problems that papa_bear had with the injen. and i wouldnt mind the intake being same brand as my exhaust

I'm grabbing a used Injen and plan to dyno the thing on a heartbreak dyno to see if it actually gains anything. I mostly want to see the inside of a descendant to see what/if there is anything in front of the MAF sensor the way the Injen does.
Thus far, short of the TRD CAI, it looks like all the SRI / CAI are basically the same. My guess, there will be no hp/tq gains, possibly losses, BUT it does make the car sound nice.

if they are like the 1st gen and every other car....a cai is a cai is a cai...there's really no difference between brands, no relative gains that you can see, ect.... so just chose which you like. everyone has their own preference so just go with what you want. and if you have more questions call up the two companies

i know and you're missing my point...i said on tc's and EVERY other car, intakes all do the same, set up the same, look the same...they all do the same thing. its all in personal preference. there's no real gains that you will see/feel. that's why i said get what you want as there is no 'better than this one' type deal with almost any car out there when it comes to intakes

Where's the descendant dyno? Everyone is jumping on the intake but their isn't any dyno sheets or any videos of it. No sound clips nada. Every if not most intakes fool with the maf sensor. Just as if you oil k & n's filter to much it will screw up the maf readings, and if you under oil it, you will still get a screwed maf. And to be honest I am sure that their will be a tube right where the maf sensor is just like injens intake. Yes I knw aems in dry flow just wanted to give an example.
