Gas Mileage / Weight
I'm so glad I didn't get the Honda CR-Z! Both local dealerships are BMW-wannabe's! LOL.......so I have to pass on the 38 to 40 mpg......but
On my first drive, I did 60mph.....and she easily put out 36mpg! I can live with that!!!!
Bye bye Murano! (25mpg!!)

How are you guys doing this?!?!?!
I was at 21.9 at my best using premium gas and always trying to keep the eco light on
Then when i got my descendent exhaust i kept being a wannabe manual by using the sequential shifting to sound cool and reving it up, causing my milage to drop to 21.5 cause i hammered my car, every. single. minute. of every drive :D!!!
The point is i was only at 21.9, how are you guys above 25? :l

I have 3000 miles on my car now.
My lowest for a tank is 28 and highest is 32.
Average is 30.
I drive about 1/3 traffic, 1/3 city, and 1/3 highway.
I used to have Yaris and that was averaging 38.
Corolla used to average 32.
So, 30 for this car is pretty amazing.
I think even 36 is possible if I go 90% highway.

@Enzie: Buy 87 octane. Higher octane gas can actually hurt your mileage if your car doesn't call for it.
I get about 27 mpg driving mostly highway. I have just under 10K miles on my car (most came from 3 road trips) and gas mileage is definitely affected by how you use the car. Remember, the car has a 10-trip (give or take a couple trips) memory. Go all out for 10 trips, your 11th will get better performance and worse mileage. Nurse it for 10 trips and your mileage will go up and performance will go down.
Try it if you have the patience. Turn the car on, drive, turn the car off is 1 trip. Doesn't matter how far or long. Turn the car on, accelerate hard, and turn the car off 10 times. Then on time 11, time your 0-60 mph (someone in the passenger seat with a stopwatch is fine for this experiment). Then do 10 more trips where you drive very gas conscientious. Again, on trip 11, time your 0-60 mph. Not only will your car feel more sluggish, you're car will take an additional 1/2 sec or more to reach 60 mph (assuming your passenger times it the same way both times)
I have a theory this may be why car reviews give such varying 0-60 times.

I'm pedal happy in my Camry and get 23. I think you still need a few more miles on it before you get proper MPG. The first 4-5 tanks are usually off. After the 6th or so tank (on average), your MPG increases.
I've used 1.5 tanks and i'm at 31.2 MPG. I'd say with 50% highway, and a mix of traffic and city.
Wow, I am shocked at the numbers here! Are these ALL 2nd Gen tC's? I can't possibly be getting anything in the mid 20's.....it says 36mpg....at 60mph. I will wait til I empty the first tank.....then know the figures.
If I don't get in the 30s....I'll probably puke, as this is one of the BIG reasons I got the car...........and traded in the Murano!
OMFG!....crossing my fingers.
Peace!

I am the same for driving 50/50 city and highway. I get 230ish per half tank. As it is winter I do not let it get below half. I have driven about 1,300KM since the battery was pulled. I have 2,700 KM on the car.
Got my 2011 tC, automatic, for a week. All city driving with one trip out on the highway. Lots of traffic.
In 200km so far, I'm getting 12 L/100km...which is 19.6 mpg. That's pretty terrible, the way things are going I'm going to barely get 400km for this first tank of gas.
If this is true it might explain why the gas-milage has been so bad - I've been driving the car like a mad man since I got it. Will test out the "10-trip memory" and report back...in a few days.

I will tell you my 05 got 29mpg mixed after CAI and AXLE back exhaust. The mods helped it out. So you might want to think about it.
