Gas Mileage / Weight
tC2 is only about 150 lbs heavier than the tC1. It's like having a passenger in the car with you is all. Works out to only about 1 mpg difference. Engine, transmission and aerodynamics all play a much larger role.
Manual transmission tC1: 2905 lbs
Manual transmission tC2: 3060 lbs
Difference: 155 lbs

Ok, first tank I got 30mpg. (7 days....392 miles on that tank of gas).
I'd say it was a mix of highway and city....but I might weight a tad more highway.
I drove 55mpg diligently. I always tried to keep the Eco light on.
I think I'll get a flat tire emergency kit and remove the spare. Or at-least found out how much it weighs.
Next tank of gas might tell a bit more of the story.
Peace

I'm on the last quarter of my first tank of gas, on pace to get 17.1mpg (13.75L/100km). Working out to be 400km distance for a full tank (248.5miles).
I drive only city, with tons of turns and traffic (an average trip for me is 5 to 8km, or under 5 miles).
Friend also mentioned that new engines/cars have a "breaking in" period. Hope I get better milage for the next tank!

Quick 'off topic' question, but I didn't want to start a thread for this question:
What rev's do you shift at for optimal gas mileage? When I first got the car, I used to shift at 3k, but now I've gotten into the habit of shifting at 2.5k and I think the gas mileage has gotten better or it could just be that the car is doing better since it's slowly breaking in.

^ Best mileage will come at 1800-2000 RPMs under light load. The closer you can stay to that the better mileage you'll get. You can also increase your mileage by not going faster than 45 mph ever. Give or take 5 mph, it's the most efficient speed at which you can travel.
Now, your 90 year old grandmother will probably pass you in her '85 Buick Regal and the soccer mom in her minivan will DEFINITELY beat you off the line, but you'll get great mileage!

^ Yes. Only difference is the AT makes the decision when to shift for you. Some vehicles (big diesels, motorcycles, etc) have engines and transmissions adjusted differently, so the ideal speed/RPMs are different, but it's true of most stuff on the road.
I get 25-30MPG per tank. Usually more around 25mpg. Thats highway/city. Mainly highway.
I'll get under 25mpg if I drive mainly city. At best, I get 32MPG driving 70 MPH in 6th gear.
If you live in a very flat area, you will get better MPGs, but if you live where I live (lots of hills/sloaps/turns/bends) you will get worse.
Those of you getting 36MPG have to be doing no more than 55MPH on mainly flat land.

I've got about 1200 miles on my 2011 6m/t, and all I did was put in a k&n factory replacement filter. I shift around 2800-3000 rpm each shift, and I've been averaging around 32-34, driving about 40% highway, 60% city. I average around 360 o 380 a tank. I don't know if I got a factory freak car or what, but it's been nice Soo far! I traded in my 08 5 spd and haven't been happier! The 08 got about 400 miles a tank with cold air and custom exhaust
This is my second tank of gas doing this...... I put in 16 gal! The light came on, I drove 14 more miles...and put in gas til it was at the top of the filler cap. So I figure if the tank is 14.5 gal.(advertisted) then the filler neck is holding 1.5 gal. (give or take). But without a doubt, I put in 16 gal. I drove 426 miles on the tank prior, and that was pretty much also 16 gal. I drive 55 mph highway, suburb medium quantity stop lights, easy on the pedal (eco light)
I think on the next tank. I'll go with half a tank. As I strongly believe that "it takes gas to carry gas".....weight. This might come in particularly handy during long highway drives....200 miles is no slouch for half a tank!!!
For me, I'm glad to just be doing better than my Niss Murano (the pig!)

If you fill it up that much, and let it sit in the heat....the fuel will expand yes. But, that's not an issue for me.......it's chilly here, and I'm driving over 30 miles today.
I use to load 5000 gals of fuel daily.....when I flew in the Navy. So, .....trust me.....I know about fuel expansion!! Seen it many times.....(at the fuel tank vents).
Peace!
