Default Grinding gears :( ?

Hey guys, I came from an srt4 w a crazy short shifter. So on 3 different occasions shifting from 1st to 2nd while wot I kinda grinded them pretty bad. Wasn't a complete grind, more like a crunch. Keep forgetting how long the throws are now. Realistically how much damage can occur doing this a few times? Is a "crunch" better than a full out grind? Thanks!

It should be ok, one time I was switching cars in my driveway and went from an auto and got into mine, completely forgot to push in the clutch and shifted hard into first and my gear made a HUGE pop. Mine's still going and that was several thousand miles ago (not my proudest moment, haha)

it should be fine most of the time it takes thousands of grinds to mess anything up in the tranny but i would either get used to the throw or get a trd quickshifter or twm short shifter both reduce throw by 30% and together about 50% i have the quickshifter and love it pretty simple install couple small snags but makes a huge difference in the drive
