This only happens from time to time. When my car is on and when I either high beam or turn on my 35w 6k hid lights my radio would shut off and on and brings be back to the radio tuner( say if I was connected to my iPod). Can anybody help out on this? Itll be much appreciated cause it is a hassle resetting my save radio stations. /:

 

Who installed the headlights? Did they do a relay and some how tap into the radios power source or something? Might cause a drop in voltage that resets the radio if it drops temporarily below the required voltage to operate..

No taps at all. It was a regular connector that plugs into the original headlamps. If i make sense.

 

Sounds like the common HID interference problem. But it's normally broadcast radio interference and not the problem you are having.

Do you have a stock deck or an aftermarket one? If aftermarket male sure it's properly grounded.

Also try relocating where your ballast for the HID's are placed and see if it helps.

And for reference what brand of HID's did you get?

 

Oh im not sure on the ballast problem causing interference but it makes sense. If its just a plug in type then my idea is wrong lol... could you shield the radio from the interference? I've never heard of that but its possible

im currently running 35w slim xentec. Im actually not sure where else to relocate it. Can you post up the pics of where you guys mounted it?
