lol, I know what you mean, I'm living it..., but this weekend I will revert back to stock and probably contemplate getting the k&n intake. hopefully reverting to stock fixes my rough idle, if not, I'll take it in and keep y'all updated..

I'm 96.7% sure that it will fix the rough idle

make sure to remove the negative battery cable for about 15 minutes if you didnt already so it "re-learns" the stock intake

Default idle drop in neutral and turns off. (fixed)

it's been a solid week since I removed my AEM CAI and return to stock and it has been smooth since the exchange. my car no longer idles rough or turns off and noticeably idles much smoother now. just a heads up!

I fixed my rough idle by removing my AEM CAI and reverting to stock! intake soon to be on sale, with a disclaimer of course outlining the problem I had with it...

even with the stock intake, sometimes the rpm of my 12 tc would drop to 400~350 at idle or when I cruise to stop and I could feel my car vibrates and then the rpm would bounce back to 700 and drop again to 500. Many tc2 owners have the same problem and complained about it before. Some said Toyota set the idle rpm too low for our tc2. So in your case, the AEM CAI just made the idle rpm even worse.

I installed my AEM CAI during the fall last year and didn't have any issues for 5k miles or so. Then, once really cold weather hit I had check engine lights for running rich left and right. Reverted back to stock an the issue went away. Now that warm weather is back, I put the AEM back in and see if it is just the cold weather or what. Only issue I noticed with the AEM that happens both when warm or cold outside is it doesn't like to hold a steady idle and by that I mean not after putting it in neutral or anything, but just sitting there idling it will fluctuate where as with the stock intake it does not. So it looks like I will be switching back to the stock intake after all and getting rid of the AEM.

Stick with OEM. I see no reason to even try to tamper with the issue.
