Hello, my previous car a 2002 Subaru Forester just crapped it self, snapping its driveshafts in two.
I've been looking into Scion tCs and I like how the 2nd Generation is.
I want the car to last me at least 4 years before major repairs are needed

However I was wonder, is getting a Scion with 145k miles on it worth it?

Generally these are pretty reliable cars, the 11-13 MTX's had transmission issues but aside from normal car maintenance there's nothing significant to watch out for. You can tell the interior quality isn't as refined as Toyota but mechanically the cars are great as the same components are used. Coming from an older Subaru it should be about on par though, their interiors are pretty boring too lol.
