Default Issue with turn signals

Last week I blew a fuse when attempting to use my turn signals. I had a scheduled maintenance with toyota so I decided to ask them to look at it, but after just glancing at the car the mechanic suggested that he thinks it would have something to do with the fact that I run aftermarket HIDs. Now, I know the HIDs have absolutely nothing to do with this, especially since my headlights + taillights work fine. They said they replaced the fuse and it blew it again instantly when trying to use the turn signals. They wanted to charge $80 just to "potentially diagnose" the issue as they put it. I told them not to bother, but have exhausted any other ideas i've had for correcting this issue. I also run SpecD LED tail lights, and as many of you know they have an issue with water leaking through. Recently, I went to the car wash and my rear trunk got flooded, so I put the factory splash guards on the new tail lights, and used a water resistant silicone to seal them on hoping this would correct the issue. The only way to test this was to go to the car wash again, so before I went I crammed towels into the compartment where the taillights bolt on. Immediately after doing this, the fuse blew. I checked all the wires afterwards, and it doesn't seem as if anything was bumped or harmed but it seems to be too much of a coincidence that everything worked fine for months right up until the point that I put those towels in. Does anybody have any ideas as to what might be wrong?

tl;dr version: Turn signals keep blowing fuse and can't figure out why.

Thanks for any help.

Couldn't agree more pay the 80 bucks... if they find the problem doesn't mean you have to pay them to fix it, if its something you think you can fix after they diagnose... 80 bux is worth it

Alright, thanks for the help. It seemed that every time I made a suggestion to them they just kept bringing up the aftermarket parts, so i'm going to put the original tail lights + head light bulbs back in before taking it back, that way when it blows the turn signal fuse again they will know it's covered under warranty and I won't even have to spend the $80.
